A Rain Delay - Followed by a Rainbow

The Queen West Art Crawl is a two day art show & sale that my husband and I had been preparing for throughout the past couple of months.
They hold the show in a park in September - usually a safe time of the year for weather.
Not that weekend.

After setting up Friday evening (thanks to LOTS of help from my Dad John) the skies just opened up - the rain continued throughout the night.
When we woke up on Saturday morning the rain was supposed to continue all that day - solid rain.  We were pretty upset - and when we got to the park, we realized that if the mud was already that bad, it wouldn't be worth unpacking the car.

We emailed friends, posted on facebook, and basically called a "Rain Delay".
Missing out on an entire day was horrible.
We got to the park bright and early Sunday for Day 2 - my Dad was there at 7am holding parking spots for us!

Thankfully Sunday turned out to be a great autumn day. We had lots of friends come out to support, and as far as sales went, it was one of my most successful shows - and that was with only one day!

Mike & I had our tents side by side!

Above: Pictures in my tent, and these cute little "deer" pieces I made - All 5 of them sold in a couple of hours!

We had so many visitors!

My brother Mike is above and my Dad to the right. They helped us so much!
Lots of family came to support. My aunts and uncle, and Mike's parents too! They drove two hours to see Mike's art :)

The Jays fan above - Chris, helped lug all our art and gear to the cars, then unpacked everything with us. THANKS CHRIS!

Above Al, Chels & Lucy the dog are checking out my art

To the right are big smiles - because they don't realize all the packing up that's still to come!
