Let's make some art...

When I was walking home the other day, a neighbour had some old junk on their lawn to give away.  Among the rubble was an armoire with the doors removed.  I dragged those two doors home.  They seemed perfect to use as frames for some new pieces!
On the left is one of them (propped up in my studio which, as you can tell, is also where i keep my shoes!)...I still need to clean it and scrape off the loose paint, which will give it an even more vintage look I think.

It's hard to tell from this photo, but they're painted a greenish-robin's egg blue.

I plan on hanging them horizontally.

Once I've made the piece to display in them, I'll be sure to post pictures!

TOAE

EXCITING NEWS!!!

I will be having a booth at this summer's Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition!
I've been going with my parents to this show at Nathan Phillips Square every summer, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it this year.
Look for me July 10th, 11th & 12th.  My tent will be at booth 374 in the "Green" section near Queen Street.

I have so much to do over the next 2 months to prepare! Order more business cards, get promo postcards made, frame some of the pieces...

I'll probably get more cards through moo.com.  They have a great site where you upload your art images and they send your cards in packs of 100 within 2 weeks.  I love their mini-cards.

I also want to print images of some of my pieces on canvas bags.  I'm trying to find somewhere to get 100 bags in bulk for about $1.50 each...any suggestions?

Why Kate's so Krafty...

As a life-long crafter and artist I would consider myself a woman of excellent taste.  I love fabrics and patterns, simple bold statements, quirky and kitschy design, clean classic lines, and lavish detailing.

Here's the link to my own work:
